Cv. Mahendra Shah Foundation

We've been at Shah House for quite a while now. It's an old building near the Regal Cinema, right on the third floor. You know how Mumbai is, busy and loud, but up here on Shahid Bhagat Singh Road, it's our little spot. We just get on with the work day to day. There are a few of us here handling the paperwork and talking to people who come by. It’s not fancy or anything. Just desks, some old filing cabinets, and a lot of tea. Sometimes the lift acts up, so we take the stairs. Most folks around here know where we are because of the landmark. We don't really do big meetings; it's mostly just sitting down and figuring things out one step at a time. The office is number 19 and 55 combined. It's a bit of a maze if you aren't used to these older buildings in Mumbai City. We like the neighborhood though. There’s always something happening outside near the cinema. We try to keep things simple and just focus on what’s in front of us. It gets hot in the afternoons, but the fans keep us going. We’ve seen the area change a lot over the years. People stop in, ask questions, and we do what we can. That’s pretty much the daily routine for us here in Maharashtra. It is just a regular place where work happens without any fuss.
