Civic Innovation Foundation

Our office is right in the middle of Fort, specifically on the first floor of Jai Hind Building. If you know Nagindas Master Road, you know it stays pretty busy all day long with people rushing around. We are in Unit Number 1. It is one of those classic old Mumbai buildings with high ceilings and thick walls that keep it a bit cooler than the street outside. Being here in the 400023 area means we are close to everything, which is helpful. The stairs can be a bit steep when you are carrying boxes, but that is just how these older places are. Civic Innovation Foundation is run by a small group of us. We spend most of our time at these old wooden desks we’ve had for years. The windows look out onto the street, so there is always a bit of noise from the traffic and the honking. It’s just the background sound of our workday. We don’t have any shiny signs or glass partitions. It is just a workspace where we get our tasks done. Sometimes the mail gets mixed up because there are so many units in this part of Mumbai City, but we usually figure it out. We like being in this part of town because it feels like the heart of the city. You can find good tea just around the corner at the stalls. It’s a very grounded way to operate, and we wouldn’t want to be anywhere else.
