Chitra Khandekar

Chitra Khandekar is basically run out of Flat No 4, Plot No 17 in the Dahanukar Colony building in Andheri East. It’s more of a residential-feeling area, which makes the workday feel a bit more relaxed than if we were in a big glass tower. We like the vibe here in Mumbai because you’re close to everything but you still have a little bit of your own space. The office is small, just a converted flat, but it has everything we need to keep things moving. We spend a lot of time sitting around the main table, going over figures and talking about the next steps. It’s not a fancy setup, and sometimes the building elevator is a bit finicky, so we end up taking the stairs. We’ve got stacks of folders and books everywhere, and the balcony gives us a little bit of fresh air when things get too cramped. Being in Andheri East means the commute can be a bit of a struggle for some of us, but we’re used to it by now. We don’t really have a big sign out front or anything like that. We just go about our business quietly and try to stay organized. It’s a humble place, but it’s where all the work happens, and we’ve grown quite fond of our little corner in Dahanukar Colony over the years. We just take things one day at a time and keep at it.
