Buddhist Divyang Foundation

Buddhist Divyang Foundation is based in the Siddharth Colony in Chembur. We are located at the old plot, care of Eknath B Gaikwad and HN Pagare. This is a very local, community-focused setup. We don't have a separate office building; we mostly work out of a space that feels more like a home. It’s right in the middle of Mumbai City, so it’s never quiet. There are always people moving around the colony and kids playing nearby. We focus our efforts on helping people with disabilities, who we call divyang. Because we are right here in the colony, we see the challenges they face every single day. Our foundation is run by a small group of volunteers who live close by. We don't have a big budget or any corporate backing. We just do what we can with the resources we have. Sometimes the office is just a room full of people trying to figure out a solution to a problem. It can be a bit messy and disorganized at times, but we always get through the work. We don't use fancy language or try to impress anyone. We just want to make sure that the people in Siddharth Colony have someone to turn to when they need support. It’s a humble operation, but we’ve been here for a long time and the residents know they can find us if they need us. It’s just regular people helping regular people.
