Our place is on Nav Lane, 3/A, right in the middle of Andheri West. It is a narrow little lane and sometimes the delivery trucks get stuck, which makes everyone on the street start shouting. The shop itself is tucked away behind a larger building. We have been here for a bit now. The door has this annoying squeak that we keep saying we will fix with some oil, but then we just get busy and forget about it for another week. The walls are painted a bit unevenly because we did it ourselves one Sunday when we were supposed to be closed. It is not perfect, but it feels like ours. Most days are spent just sorting through things and making sure the place does not look like a total mess. Andheri is always moving so fast, but inside here it is a bit quieter, except when the neighbor’s radio is turned up too loud in the afternoon. We have some chairs but they do not all match. People come in and out, some looking for something specific and some just wandering in because they saw the name on the door and got curious. It is a bit dark inside sometimes because the street does not get much sun during the day. We just turn on the extra lamps and keep going. It is a small operation, just a few of us trying to get by without too much fuss.
