You can find us at Room No 1, 11, in the Gurukrupa Chawl over in Jogeshwari East. It is a humble setup here, just a small room where we keep all the art supplies and the pieces we are working on. The chawl is always full of life, with neighbors talking and kids running around the corridors. Inside our space, there’s usually the smell of paint and thinners. Bhushan Fine Art isn’t a big gallery with spotlights; it’s more of a workshop where the actual work happens every day. We have canvases leaning against the walls and brushes sitting in jars on the old wooden tables. Sometimes the floor gets a bit messy with spills, but that’s just how it goes when you’re busy making things. People from the neighborhood often drop by to see what we are doing or to ask about getting something framed. We do a lot of traditional work and some custom stuff too, depending on what someone needs for their home. It gets quite hot in the afternoons, so we usually have the fan going full speed while we sketch or paint. We don’t have a big staff, just a couple of us who know how to handle the materials. It’s a quiet life inside the room, even if the street outside is noisy. We’ve stayed here in Jogeshwari because it’s where we started and we know all the local shopkeepers and residents.
