We are located at FL C 101 in the Goodwill CHS, which is on Plot No 15 and 16 in Sector 08 of Panvel. It’s a bit of a journey out here if you are coming from the main part of Mumbai, but Raigarh has its own pace. Beejvan Biodiversity And Collaborative Research Foundation is basically just us trying to understand the local plants and how to keep things growing. We aren’t scientists in white coats or anything like that. We just really care about the seeds and the soil around here. Most days, we are either looking through samples or talking to people about what grows best in this Maharashtra climate. The office is really just a flat in the society, so it feels very much like a home. Sometimes the neighbors pop in to ask what we are doing with all the dirt and plants. We try to collaborate with anyone who has an interest in the environment, whether they are researchers or just people who like gardening. It’s quiet in Sector 08 for the most part, which helps when we need to focus on our records. We don’t have a fancy lobby or anything, just some desks and a lot of passion for biodiversity. If you find yourself in Panvel, you can look for the Goodwill building. We’ve been here for a while now, just doing our bit for the local land and trying to learn more every day.
