Bansari Painting Classes

Bansari Painting Classes is located in Flat 1103 of the Yuca Building in Andheri East. We are near the Charkop area, not too far from the Powai Police Chowky. Since we operate out of a flat on the eleventh floor, it feels more like a home than a school. There are easels set up in the living room and brushes soaking in jars of water on the kitchen counter. The walls have some of our students' work pinned up, and there are always a few paint stains on the floor that we couldn't quite get out. It’s a quiet place to sit and paint, especially being so high up away from the street noise. We started these classes because we just wanted a place for people to come and use some colors. We have kids coming in after school and some adults who stop by when they have a free afternoon. It’s not a formal institution with certificates and big exams. We just put out the canvases and let people start painting. Sometimes we run out of a certain color of blue or the brushes get a bit frayed, but we make it work. The view from the window is nice, looking out over Andheri. It’s a simple setup. If the elevator in the Yuca building is working, it’s a quick trip up to see us. We’re just here most days, surrounded by tubes of paint and half-finished pictures.
