Balram Leela Foundation

Our office is way up on the 29th floor of the Glenridge CHS in Hiranandani Garden, Powai. It’s a pretty high spot, so you can see a lot of Mumbai from up here when the weather is clear. Being in Hiranandani is quite different from other parts of the city because it’s all very planned out and clean. But inside our office at 2901, it’s just the usual mess of papers and coffee mugs. We run the Balram Leela Foundation from here. Most of the time, it’s just the sound of keyboards clicking and the occasional phone ringing. We don't have any fancy marketing people or a big PR team. It’s just us. We deal with various foundation tasks throughout the week. Sometimes it feels a bit disconnected being so high up in a tall building, but we make sure to get out and do the actual work on the ground too. The elevators in Glenridge are usually fast, which is a blessing when you’re running late. We’ve been in this building for a bit and it’s a solid place to be. We don’t try to act like a big corporation; we’re just a small group doing our bit. People think because we are in Powai we must be very formal, but we’re actually quite relaxed once you get to know us. It is just a place to get work done and stay organized.
