We are located at 204-A Narshi Natha Street, which is inside the Lalji Dongarshi Building. It is an old part of the city, right near Bhat Bazar, so the streets are always narrow and full of people carrying loads. Our space is up on the second floor. It is a bit of a climb, but we like it here. The building has a lot of history, and you can tell by the way the stairs feel. We spend our days surrounded by all kinds of brushes. Some are for painting, others for industrial use, but they all take up a lot of room. The smell of wood and bristles is something you notice as soon as you walk in. We spend a lot of time sorting through the different sizes and making sure nothing gets damaged in the piles. It is a bit chaotic sometimes, especially when a big delivery comes in and we have to find a place for everything. We are not big on fancy displays or modern furniture. Most of our desks are covered in samples and bits of string. The light from the window is good in the afternoon, which helps when we are looking at the finer details of the products. People from the bazar downstairs often come up to ask about specific items. We just take things one day at a time, keeping the business going in this busy corner of Mumbai.
