Arto Art is tucked away in Sukh Niwas, right in the Colaba area. We are in Flat Number 16 in the A Wing of the building. It’s a bit of a walk up the stairs, but it’s a nice enough spot once you get inside. We are situated right opposite the Colaba Market Lane, so there is always a lot of noise, energy, and the smell of food coming from the street below us. We work on all kinds of different artistic projects in this space. The room is filled with supplies, brushes, and finished pieces leaning against the walls. It isn't a big commercial gallery with bright lights; it feels more like a workshop where things are actually being made by hand. Sometimes it gets a bit messy with paint or scraps of materials scattered around the floor, but that is just part of how we work. Being in Colaba means we get all kinds of people dropping by, from long-time locals to tourists who are just passing through the market lane. We spend our days focusing on the small details of whatever we are making. Sometimes we stay here late into the evening when the market starts to quiet down and it gets a bit more peaceful. It’s a good place for this kind of work because there is so much life happening right outside our window. We’ve been in this building for a long time and have gotten used to the rhythm of the area.
