Colaba 4th Cross is a narrow lane and we’ve been tucked away here at number 1 for a good long time. Art Musings isn't one of those places where you have to dress up just to walk through the door. We usually have the radio playing low in the background while we sort through new canvases that come in from the artists. The floors are old stone and they stay cool even when it’s boiling hot outside in the afternoon. We spend a lot of our day just rearranging things. One painting looks okay on the left wall, then we move it to the right and it looks totally different. It’s mostly just us two or three people working here, making sure nothing gets scratched or damaged. We get a lot of tourists wandering in by mistake looking for the cafe next door, but some of them stay to look around. The light in the front room is the best, especially around three o'clock when the sun hits the window. We don't do much talking if people want to just walk around quietly. Sometimes we have to move the heavy frames around and it’s a bit of a workout for us. The neighborhood is loud, with all the cars and the people walking to the market, but inside here it stays pretty calm. We just keep doing what we do, hanging up art and making sure the place stays clean enough for visitors who come through the door.
