Art Land

Art Land is tucked away at 52 Vaju Kotak Marg, right near Shahid Bhagat Singh Road. We are in that busy Fort Market area, which means the G.P.O. is just a short walk away. It is a very old part of the city and the building we are in has those high ceilings and thick walls that keep it somewhat cool. The streets outside are always packed with people selling snacks or rushing to catch a bus. Inside our space, things are a bit more slowed down. We have piles of things everywhere because we hate throwing anything away that might be useful later. The address is a bit of a mouthful, but if you find the Fort Market, you are basically there. We spend a lot of time just organizing the different pieces we have in stock. The light coming through the windows is usually filtered by the grime on the glass, but it gives the place a nice feel. We don't have a receptionist or anything like that. If the bell rings, whoever is closest to the door goes to see who it is. Sometimes it’s just someone asking for directions to the post office. We’ve been here long enough that the sounds of the traffic outside just fade into the background. It is just a normal place for people who like making and looking at art. Most days we just putter around and get the orders ready.
