Ambuja Arts is tucked away at 303 near Anjirwadi on Meherall Road in Mazgaon. It’s on the third floor, and the stairs are a bit of a workout if you’re carrying anything heavy. The space is more like a workshop than a proper office. There are scraps of material and jars of different things scattered around the tables. It’s definitely not a tidy place, but we know where everything is. We spend most of our time actually making things or sketching out ideas. The windows look out over the roofs of Mazgaon, and you can see the trains in the distance sometimes. It gets a bit noisy with all the local workshops around here, but it’s a good kind of energy. We don’t have a receptionist; usually, you just hear us working when you come up the stairs. The walls have marks from years of work, and the floor is a bit stained, but that’s just part of it. We drink a lot of chai and talk about the projects we’re working on. It’s a practical environment where we focus on the task at hand. Sometimes we stay late when there’s a lot to do, and the whole building gets quiet. It’s just a regular local business doing its thing in an old part of the city. We don't have any grand plans, just making sure the next job is done right.
