Kalbadevi is always a bit of a squeeze, especially where we are. It’s one of those places where you can hear the traffic and the shouting from the street even when the door is shut. We’ve been operating out of this spot for a long time, and honestly, the walls could probably use a new coat of paint. There are stacks of frames and paper everywhere you look. If you aren't careful, you might trip over something near the entrance. Sakinaka is also part of our daily run, so we’re always moving between these spots. It’s tiring work, mostly because the humidity makes everything feel heavy. My desk is covered in old receipts and pens that barely work. We don't have a big team or anything, just a few of us trying to get through the orders. Sometimes the tea guy from across the street forgets our order, or we get too busy to even drink it. It’s not like those big corporate offices you see in the movies. It’s just a small shop with a lot of history and a lot of dust. Most days are the same, just keeping the lights on and making sure the customers who find their way here leave with what they asked for. We don't spend much time worrying about how the place looks to outsiders as long as the work gets done. It is just the way we have always done things.
