We have a place called Alishan Art Gallery over in Andheri West, specifically in the Hallomajra 4 area. It sounds fancy, but it is really just a workshop and a space where we keep our frames and some paintings. We spend a lot of time with wood and glass. There are shavings on the floor most of the time because we are always cutting new frames for customers. People bring in their photos or old posters that need a bit of help, and we find something that fits. It’s a bit cramped inside because we have a lot of samples leaning against the walls. We don't have a big gallery with white walls and spotlights. It’s more of a practical place where we get our hands dirty. The lighting is just okay, mostly just what comes in from the street and a few overhead bulbs. We’ve been in Andheri for a while, and people know they can just drop by with their artwork. Sometimes we are a bit slow if a big order comes in, but we try to be fair with everyone. We don't really do much advertising. Usually, it’s just someone telling their friend about the guy who fixed their frame. We just keep the door open and wait for the next project to come through. It’s a quiet life among the frames and the sawdust. We sweep up at night and start all over again tomorrow morning.
