We are located in Abhilakh Nagar IraniWadi Society 4, right in the Laljipada area of Kandivali West. It's a crowded spot but that’s just how things are here in Mumbai. Most days, you’ll find us at Lalti S Yadav’s place where we run things from. It isn't a big fancy office with glass walls or anything like that. It is just a regular room where people come and go. We started doing this because we saw so many things happening in our neighborhood that needed a bit of attention. It’s not like we have all the answers or a lot of money, but we do what we can. Some mornings it is quiet, and then by afternoon, three or four people are talking at once about what needs to get done next. We don't really have a big staff, just some of us who live nearby and care about what happens on our street. Sometimes the power goes out or the internet is slow, and we just sit and wait it out while drinking tea. It’s a very local thing we have going on. We don't spend time writing big reports or making posters. We just talk to the people who walk past the door. It is simple work, really. Most of the time, it's just about listening to what the neighbors are worried about and trying to see if there is a way to help out. We’ve been here for a while now and everyone knows the address. We're just neighbors helping neighbors.
