Acme Electronics

Acme Electronics is on the second floor of Ahmed Chamber. The address is 386 Lamington Road, which is a very busy part of the city. To get to us, you have to walk up some stairs that can be a bit dark, but once you're inside, it’s quite bright. We have a lot of shelves filled with different electronic components. It is quite a tight squeeze when we get a big shipment in. We spend our days answering phones and looking for specific parts for people who come in. Lamington Road is famous for this kind of stuff, so there is always a lot of competition around us. We just try to do our own thing and keep our customers happy. The room gets a bit hot during the summer because the windows don’t open very far. We have a few old fans that make a lot of noise but they do the job. It’s a very simple setup. We don't have any fancy decorations on the walls. Just some calendars and maybe a few notes taped up. Most of us have worked together for years, so we know where everything is kept. It’s a bit chaotic to an outsider, but it makes sense to us. We stay until the evening when the street noise finally starts to die down. It is a long day usually, but we like the pace of being in the heart of the electronics market.
