Out here in Padampur, things move a bit slower than in the city, and that’s how we like it. Agroot Services started because we saw a lot of people in Paschim Medinipur needing help with the practical side of their farm work and services. We are based at Mithu Ghorai’s house in the village. It serves as our main point of contact for anyone who needs to drop by. We provide various services that help keep the local agricultural cycle moving along. It’s not fancy work, and we often have dirt on our boots by the end of the day, but it’s necessary. We know the people around here because we grew up in these same fields. When someone has a problem with their crops or needs help with logistics, they know where to find us. We don’t go around making big promises we can’t keep. We just look at what needs doing and try to find a way to help out. Some days it is more about fixing things or arranging transport, and other days it is just about giving advice based on what we’ve seen work before. Being in Daspur, we are right in the middle of it all. We don’t have a corporate office with air conditioning. It’s just us, some chairs under the shade, and a lot of talk about how to make the next season better for everyone in the area without overcomplicating everything.
