Hkharagpur Agriculture Producer Company Limited

Hkharagpur Agriculture Producer Company Limited is located at Pramod Singh’s house, which is number 236 in Vill Kharagpurtola. We are in Ward Number 8, Bhawani Tola Panch, right here in the Kharagpur block. This company is basically just a group of us local folks who grew up around these fields. We started this because we realized that working alone was getting harder every year with the prices changing and the weather being so unpredictable. Our office is just a part of the house where we keep the records and meet up to chat. You can usually find a few of us sitting there on plastic chairs discussing the crops or the next planting season. It is a very local operation and we don’t put on any airs about it. We know the land here in Kharagpur very well because we have walked it since we were kids. Sometimes the paperwork gets a bit confusing for us, but we help each other out to get it sorted. We aren't looking for global fame; we just want to make sure the farmers in our ward are doing okay and getting their produce sold. There is a lot of dirt under our fingernails and we probably talk about the rain more than anything else. It is just a simple way for us to stick together and keep our community going through the farming seasons.
