Binpur is where we are, out in Paschim Medinipur. Sib Sankar Kundu is the guy in charge of the place where Somajsathi Agro Farmers Producer Company Limited operates. It’s a local thing, through and through. The village of Binpur is where most of us grew up. We don’t have a website or anything like that, just the address on the documents. If you need us, you come to the village. The roads here can be a bit rough, especially after the monsoon sets in. But we are used to it by now. Sib Sankar’s place is easy to find if you’re looking for it. We talk about the crops and the soil mostly. It’s what we know. The company was started because we wanted to do something together as farmers. We don’t have big meetings with suits and ties. We wear what we wear to the fields. Paschim Medinipur is a place where people work hard. We aren't trying to be famous or anything. We just want to make sure the work gets handled properly. Sometimes the paperwork gets a bit confusing, but we sort it out eventually. It’s a slow process sometimes, but it’s our process. We’ve been here in Binpur for our whole lives, and this company is just another part of that life. We wouldn't want to be anywhere else really. It feels right to be here among people we know.
