Sabang Agro Export Private Limited operates out of Singpurfatechak Badalpur. It’s a bit of a mouthful of a name for a village, but that’s where we are. We are C/O Manoranjan Maji. He’s the one who keeps things organized here in West Midnapore. Midnapore is a place of vast fields and hardworking people. Our focus is on agro export, which means we spend a lot of time looking at trucks and crates. The pin code is 721166. It’s a long way from the big ports, but we make it work. The village life is quiet until the harvest comes. Then, everything moves fast. We have to make sure the produce is ready to go out. Manoranjan’s place is where we meet. It’s a typical house with a space cleared out for the business. We don't have air conditioning, just the breeze from the windows. We drink a lot of water because it gets very humid here. Sabang Agro Export is a small setup in the grand scheme, but it matters to the people here in Badalpur. We don't pretend to be a big corporate entity. We are just local people trying to get our goods to other places. It’s a lot of coordination and some long hours on the road. We are just trying to keep the business growing year after year from this little corner of the world.
