S.S. Rander Marble

S.S. Rander Marble is situated right at the Bye Pass Tiraha. Being at a junction like this means we get a lot of people stopping by who are just passing through or looking for stone for their homes. Our yard is filled with slabs of marble of all different sizes and colors. It’s a heavy business, and you’ll usually see us using the crane or moving things by hand to show a customer a specific piece. The ground is always covered in a bit of white dust from the cutting and polishing, but that’s just part of the marble trade. We don’t have a fancy showroom with air conditioning; we just have our outdoor space where you can see the stone in the natural light. We talk to people plainly about what works best for floors or counters. It’s a family-run place and we don’t believe in pushing people to buy things they don’t need. We just show them what we have and let the stone do the talking. The noise from the bypass can be loud, but we’ve worked here so long we barely notice it anymore. It’s a simple setup where we work hard and try to be fair with everyone. If you’re looking for marble, you just come to the Tiraha and look for the big stacks of stone. We are usually out here sorting the pieces and helping the trucks get loaded up for deliveries. The days go by pretty fast when you are busy with the saws and the loading, and we usually close up just as the sun starts to set over the bypass.
