H.C. Toshniwal Marble

You can find us on Borawar Road, right near the petrol pump. It’s a convenient spot because it’s easy for the trucks to pull in and out when they are delivering new loads. We’ve been operating from this location for quite a bit. The yard is filled with marble slabs of all different sizes and colors. It’s a family-run kind of thing, so you’ll usually see one of us around. We don’t have a lot of bells and whistles. The office is just a small room where we keep the books and take a break from the heat. Dealing with stone is heavy work. We spend a lot of time using the pulleys to move things around so people can see the bottom slabs in a stack. Borawar Road gets busy, and sometimes the noise from the traffic is a lot, but you get used to it after a while. We just sell the stone as it is. We don't do any of those fancy polished displays you see in the big cities. People come here knowing what they want. They look at the grain, check the thickness, and we talk about the loading and transport. It’s a very hands-on job. We get our hands dirty every day, and there’s always stone dust on our clothes. It’s just how we make a living. We aren’t trying to impress anyone with big words, we just want to get the marble moved so the next batch can come in.
