Jinershwar Marbles

If you come down Borawar Road in Makrana, you will find us at Jinershwar Marbles. This area is famous for stone, and we are right in the middle of it all. There is white marble dust on everything here, from the trees to the rooftops. We spend our days surrounded by big blocks of stone that we bring in to cut. It is a very loud place because of the saws running all the time. We don't have a polished showroom with air conditioning or anything fancy like that. Our slabs are just leaning against the walls under the open sky. We spend a lot of time checking the natural patterns in the marble to see how it should be cut. Sometimes a block has a crack we didn't see, and that can be a real headache. But that is just how it is with natural stone. We have been doing this for a long time, so we know the rhythms of the yard. My family has been involved in this for years, and we just keep the tradition going. We don't bother with fancy slogans or big promises. We just show people what we have available on the ground. It is honest work and it keeps us busy from sunrise to sunset. If the power stays on, we get a lot done. If not, we sit in the shade and wait. It is a simple life centered around the stone.
