Chatan Trading Company

We are based in the village of Gedhan Kallan, out in the Besroli Tehsil of Nagour district. Chatan Trading Company is situated right near the Govt. High School. It’s a very local feel here. You can hear the kids at the school during their breaks. The office is just a simple building in the village. We don’t have paved roads all the way to the door, so it can get a bit dusty when the wind picks up in Nagour. Working in a village means things move at a slightly different pace than in the big cities. We know most of our neighbors and the people who live around the post office. Our work involves a lot of talking to people and checking on stocks. We don't have a big corporate structure or anything like that. It’s mostly just family and a couple of helpers from the village. The room we work in is basic with a few chairs and a table. We keep the registers and some samples there. It gets quite hot in the summer, so we usually have the fans going full blast. Being near the school is helpful because everyone in Gedhan Kallan knows where that is. We aren't trying to change the world, just doing our trading and keeping the business going. It’s a humble place, and we’re happy with how things are. We just keep at it every day. We don't have any of those corporate papers or goals.
