Sangmarmar Udyog

Our yard is located right near the railway crossing on the By Pass Road. You will definitely hear the trains going by every hour or so while you are standing here talking to us. It makes the ground shake just a little bit, but we have been here so long that we do not even notice the noise anymore. The name Sangmarmar Udyog is just a way of saying we work with stone. We have piles of marble slabs leaning against each other everywhere you look. Some of the stone is from right here and some of it comes from quite far away. We do not have a big staff at all, just a few of us who have been doing this for many years. We know these stones pretty well by now. We can usually tell exactly where a piece was quarried just by looking at the grain and the color. It is a very dusty job, and your clothes and shoes are always covered in that white marble powder by the end of the day. We do not put on any acts here. If you walk into our yard, you will see us in our everyday working clothes, probably moving some slabs around or checking what we have left in the inventory. We do not have a receptionist or a waiting room with a television. Usually, people just pull their trucks up and we start looking at the stone.
