Samad Marbles

This is Samad Marbles, located right in Ward No. 1 in Borawar village. If you know the Makrana area, you know there is stone everywhere. We are tucked away near Borawar Road, which stays pretty busy with trucks and tractors moving through all day long. My family has been around this part of Nagaur for a long time, and we just keep the business going one day at a time. It’s a simple setup. We have the marble slabs lined up so folks can walk through and see the patterns. Makrana marble is what everyone asks for, so that’s mostly what we have sitting in the yard. It can get pretty loud with the traffic nearby, but we’re used to it by now. Some people come in knowing exactly what they want for their floors, while others just wander around looking at the different blocks. We try to keep the place decent, but it's a working yard, so there’s always a bit of grit and white dust on everything. Dealing with marble isn't easy work, it's heavy and you have to be careful not to crack the corners. We don't have a big team, just a few of us making sure things get loaded right when someone buys a batch. Most of our neighbors are in the same trade, so it feels like a community effort. If you're driving down Borawar Road, you'll see our sign. We're usually here from early morning until the sun starts going down.
