Rock Area Company

Rock Area Company is located over at Plot No E-195-96 in the Riico Industrial Area in Bidiyad. If you know this part of the country, you know it is all about the stone. Our plot is just one of many, but we have been working this patch of ground for a while. The yard is usually full of slabs and offcuts. It is a noisy place with the sound of saws cutting through the blocks day and night. We don't have much of a front office, mostly just the shed where we keep the tools and the heavy gear. The dust settles on everything, no matter how much you clean it. We get people coming in looking for specific sizes or colors, and we just go out into the yard to see what we can find for them. It is a bit disorganized to an outsider, but we know where every piece is. Working in an industrial area like this means dealing with power cuts and heavy trucks blocking the narrow roads. You just get used to it after a few years. We aren't trying to be the biggest place around, just a steady one that stays open six days a week. The sun beats down on the stone all day, making it hot to the touch, but the work doesn't stop. It’s just how we make our living here, handling one block at a time until the sun goes down.
