P.K. Tiles

We are located at Plot No E-129 in the Riico industrial area here in Bidiyad. It is a busy place with a lot of trucks moving in and out all day long. We spend most of our time out in the yard handling the tiles and making sure everything is stacked where it should be. The dust is something you just live with when you work around here. It gets on your clothes and in your hair by noon, but that is just how it goes. We started this because we knew the area and saw a lot of building going on nearby. It isn't a glamorous job, just a lot of moving heavy boxes and checking the inventory lists over and over. Sometimes the sun is really beating down on the corrugated roof and it gets quite hot inside the shed. We usually have a tea break around four o'clock when things slow down for a minute. That’s when we talk about what needs to be delivered the next morning. People come in looking for stuff for their kitchens or bathrooms, and we just show them what’s currently sitting in the racks. Some days are slower than others, but there is always something to clean or move. We try to keep the place organized, though it's hard with so many different sizes and patterns coming in. It’s just a regular local business where we show up, do the work, and head home when the sun goes down.
