We have been here at Plot No E-217-18 in the Riico Industrial Area of Bidiyad for a long time now. It’s a busy spot where there is always a lot of noise from the machines and trucks. The air is usually thick with dust, but that is just part of the life when you deal with stones. My family started this business and we have just kept it going. It is not a very fancy operation. We have the marble and granite slabs stacked up in the yard and we spend most of our days showing them to whoever walks in. Sometimes it is very hot outside, so we sit in the small office and drink tea while we wait for deliveries. The trucks come in at all hours and it can be a real headache to get them unloaded when the weather is bad. We don't really do any big ads or anything like that. People just know where we are. We have seen the industrial area grow over the years, with new plots opening up nearby. It used to be much quieter here. Now there is always someone passing by or a crane moving something heavy. We just focus on getting the work done and making sure we have enough stock for the local orders. It's a simple way to earn a living, though it is hard on the back sometimes. We know the neighbors and we all help each other out when someone’s truck gets stuck or something like that.
