M.A. Bhati Marbles

M.A. Bhati Marbles is out on Manglana Road, near Bhakro Ki Dhani. It is a dusty stretch of road, especially when the wind picks up. We are located in Iqbalpura, and the Astha Hospital is just nearby, which makes it easy for people to find us. Working with marble is a heavy job. We spend our time unloading trucks and rearranging the slabs so people can see the different colors. Our hands are always dry and rough from the stone and the water we use to clean it. The sun in this part of the country is no joke. It beats down on the yard all day. We try to keep things organized, but when you have tons of stone, it is a constant struggle. We see a lot of different people coming through, from builders to families looking to fix up their floors. We aren't talkative people. We just show the stone and tell them how much is left in stock. The hospital nearby means there is always some activity on the road. It is a noisy place with the sound of grinding and trucks. We stay busy from the moment we open the gates until we head home. It is hard work, but the slabs look quite different when you get the dust off them. Cleaning the yard takes a lot of effort every evening before we can finally head back to our families and rest.
