Laxmi Marbles

We are Laxmi Marbles, and we’re set up in the RIICO Industrial Area in the Nagaur district. Our place is quite close to the Makrana Dungri Marble area, which is famous for its stone. Being in Nagaur means we are right in the thick of the marble world. It’s dusty and there’s always the sound of saws in the background. We have been working out of this industrial area for a long time. It’s not a glamorous job, but it’s what we know how to do. Most of our days are spent checking the quality of the blocks or helping load them up for transport. The yard gets pretty hot in the summer, but we just keep going. People know this area for the specific type of marble found nearby, so we get a lot of visitors looking for that. We aren't a corporate office with a lot of paperwork. We’re more about the actual stone and the work that goes into it. The RIICO area is always humming with activity. You can hear the machines from down the road. We just try to stay on top of things and keep the business moving. It’s a local operation, and most of us living nearby have been doing this since we were younger. The sound of the cutters is like music to us after all this time. We are proud to be near the Makrana Dungri Marble area because it has such a long history. Our families have lived in Nagaur for generations, and many of us followed our fathers into this trade. It’s just what we do every day.
