Bheem Marble Industry

We’ve been here on Chavandiya Road in Kalanada for a while now. Most days it’s just us and the stone slabs. Bheem Marble Industry isn't a big fancy place with a showroom. It’s mostly just a yard where we keep the stock. You can see the dust on our clothes by noon. People come by and walk through the rows of marble. We show them what we have on the lot. Sometimes the weather makes it hard to move things around but we manage. My hands are always rough from handling the edges of the pieces. We don't have a website or anything like that. If you need something for a floor or a counter you just show up. We talk about what size you need and if we have it in the back. Sometimes a truck comes in late and we have to stay to unload it. It’s a lot of physical work and the sun gets pretty hot out here in Kalanada. Most of the neighbors know us by now. We just try to keep the inventory moving and make sure the measurements aren't off by much. It's a simple life really. We drink tea in the small office when it’s quiet. If someone calls asking for prices we just tell them what’s available that day. Marble is heavy and it takes a lot of effort to move it without breaking anything. That’s pretty much how it goes for us every day.
