India White Marble

India White Marble is right out on the Bye Pass Road. It’s a good spot because the big trucks can get in and out without getting stuck in town traffic. The road gets really dusty, especially in the summer. We spend a lot of time washing the dust off the white marble so people can actually see the patterns. It’s a lot of work keeping things clean out here. Most of our days are spent waiting for deliveries or helping someone load up a small pickup truck. We don't have a big office, just a small cabin where we keep the records and a fan. The noise from the Bye Pass Road is constant, but you stop hearing it after a few months. We mostly deal with white marble because that’s what people around here seem to like for their courtyards. We aren't salespeople. We just show what’s in the yard. If a piece has a crack, we point it out. It’s better to be honest than have someone come back complaining later. The sun hits the yard pretty hard in the afternoon, so we usually take a break then. It's a simple way to make a living. We’ve been at this location for a while and we know the regulars who drive this road. We just keep our heads down and do the work. It is what it is, and we stay quite busy.
