Balkishan Enterprises

Our place is at E-17 A in the Riico Industrial Area of Bidiyad. It is a busy little corner where we spend most of our waking hours. The work starts early when the air is still a bit cool, before the heat of the industrial area really kicks in. We handle all kinds of stone here, and my clothes are usually covered in some kind of white dust by the end of the shift. The plot at E-17 A is mostly filled with the marble we have collected and processed. We spend a lot of time checking the edges and surfaces of the slabs to see how they turned out. It is a lot of walking back and forth, talking to the loaders and making sure the orders are ready to go out. We don't have any big corporate goals; we just want to get through the day's work and make sure the customers get what they paid for. Sometimes the machines act up and we have to spend the afternoon fixing them with grease on our hands. It is just part of the routine. We share a few laughs during the lunch break and then get right back to the heavy work. It is a plain, hardworking life here in the yard and we are quite content with the way things are. Every evening we check the gates and head home to get some rest before it starts all over.
