Cardamom Planters Association College

This college is located in Pankajam Nagar, which is part of Bodinayakanur in the Theni district. People around here usually just call the town Bodi. We are tied to the cardamom planters’ history of the region, which is why the name is what it is. The campus is tucked away from the main bustle of the town center, giving the students a bit of space. The buildings are older and have that solid, traditional feel to them. You can see the hills in the distance on a clear day, which is one of the nice things about being in this part of Tamil Nadu. The students come from all over the district, often arriving on the green government buses. Inside, the classrooms are large with high ceilings and old wooden benches. It’s a quiet place for the most part, except during the lunch hour when the corridors fill up. The staff room is always a hub of activity with teachers talking over schedules. We have a lot of history here, but we don’t spend much time talking about it; we just focus on the daily classes. The ground is often dry, and we have to manage the water carefully. It’s a straightforward educational institution without any of the fancy trimmings you see in the cities. Cardamom Planters Association College is just a fixture of life here in Bodinayakanur, providing a place for the local kids to get their degrees. We have been here many years and the routine stays the same.
