Oriental School

Oriental School is situated at Site No 114 on the Melur Main Road in Uthangudi. Being in Madurai, the weather is mostly hot, so the school day starts early to beat the heat. It is a regular school building where kids from the local neighborhood come to study. You will see parents dropping their children off on bikes every morning. We have teachers who live nearby and have been working here for quite some time. They just focus on the lessons and making sure the children are following along. The playground is small, but it is enough for the kids to run around during their short breaks. We follow the standard curriculum, nothing too out of the ordinary. There is a lot of day-to-day work involved in keeping a school running, from fixing broken furniture to managing the registers. The main road is always busy with buses and trucks, so we have to be careful with the kids when they are leaving. It is a very local setup, and everyone knows each other. We don't have any big corporate backing or fancy equipment. It is just a simple place for education. We have seen the area around Uthangudi change as more houses are built, but the school stays pretty much the same. We just try to provide a safe space for the children to learn their basics and grow up. It is an honest, daily operation without any frills.
