Sree Balaji Educational College For Women

This college is right on Venkataraman Street in Chinna Chokkikulam. It is a busy part of Madurai and there is always something happening right outside our front door. Being at number 15, we are easy to find for the students who come here. Most of the women who study here come from the local neighborhoods or take the bus from further out in the city. The building is an older style, which is typical for this part of town. We have a few floors and the rooms are quite high so they stay a bit cooler in the Madurai heat. You can hear the scooters and the occasional temple bell from the street. Inside, it is mostly just the sound of lectures and people walking in the corridors. We do not have a massive campus with big fields, but we make the space work for us. There is a small area where students sit during their breaks to talk and eat their lunch. The teachers here have been around for a long time and know the area well. We know the local shops nearby where we get our stationery and snacks. It is not a place with a lot of shiny glass or modern art. It is a practical building for studying and nothing more. We focus on the classes and making sure the syllabus is covered before the semester ends. When exams come around, the whole place gets very quiet and serious. It is a straightforward place for education.
