Mangaiarkarasi Higher Secondary School

We are situated at No 92 A, on Hot Water Channel Road in Ponnagaram, Madurai. If you know the area, you know it can be quite busy and lively. Our school is right in the middle of all that activity. We have been here for many years, and the building shows its age in some spots, but it is sturdy enough. We have a lot of students, so the hallways are usually pretty packed between the classes. Teaching here means being part of the Madurai life, which is always moving. We do not use any fancy language to describe ourselves. We are a higher secondary school, so we spend a lot of time on the older kids who are getting ready for college. It is a lot of work for the teachers, and sometimes we stay late to finish up the grading or help someone out. The desks are the old wooden kind, and the chalkboards are well-used. We do not have a big marketing team or anything like that. We just rely on the fact that people in Ponnagaram have been sending their kids here for generations. It is a community thing. On rainy days, the road outside gets a bit messy, but the students still show up. We just keep the doors open and do our best to get through the lessons. It is a normal, everyday sort of place for us and the kids in Madurai.
