Vijaya Restaurant is located at 677/2 Upkar Nagar, right on the Main Road in Civil Lines. If you know the Dushera Ground in Ludhiana, then you know exactly where we are. We have been here for a while, serving the local crowd that walks by every day. It’s a straightforward kind of place. We have our regulars who come in for the same thing every week and we know their names. The building isn't anything modern or shiny, just a solid brick place that has seen a lot of people come and go. In Ludhiana, people appreciate food that tastes like it was made at home, and that’s what we try to do in our kitchen. We don't have a giant menu with hundreds of items. We just stick to the things we know how to make well. The area around 141001 gets quite busy, especially during festival times near the ground, so we see a lot of foot traffic then. Sometimes the service is a little slow when the room is full, but we are just human and we do our best to get the plates out. It’s mostly family members working here, so there is always a bit of chatter going on. We don't spend money on fancy ads or signs. We just keep the doors open and the stove hot. It’s a simple life running a restaurant in Civil Lines, and we wouldn't have it any other way.
