Ashoka Hotel Restaurant & Beer Bar

You can find us over by the Clock Tower on Kutchery Road. It is a very busy part of town and there is always a lot of traffic passing by. Ashoka Hotel Restaurant & Beer Bar is a place where locals stop in after they finish their work for the day. We have a section for the bar and then a separate area where people can sit down and have a meal. It is definitely not a high-end place, but it serves the purpose for the people who live and work around here. The building itself is older, and you can see a bit of wear and tear on the floors and the furniture, but it stays fairly busy. We try to keep the drinks cold and make sure the food comes out reasonably fast, though it can get backed up on Friday and Saturday nights. The staff is just a few guys who have been here for years. Parking on Kutchery Road is usually a big problem, so most people just walk over or take an auto. We don’t do any advertising or have a website or anything like that. Most of our customers are regulars who have been coming here for a long time. It is a straightforward setup with no frills. We just keep the doors open and try to provide a decent spot for a drink and a bite. It is what it is.
