Our dhaba is tucked away in Toor Market in the Dugri area of Ludhiana. We are located right at the backside of the petrol pump, which makes us a bit of a hidden spot if you don't know where to look. We are a Vaishno dhaba, so everything we serve is strictly vegetarian. That’s how we have always done it. Ludhiana is a city that loves its food, and there are many big restaurants, but we stay small and simple. The furniture is basic and the walls don't have much on them. We focus on the cooking instead of the decor. It can get quite noisy in the market, with the sound of vehicles and people moving around the petrol pump. We’ve been here in Dugri for a good amount of time. The people who live nearby are our main customers. They come in for a quick meal or take something home for their families. We don't have a website or a social media person. We just open the shutters in the morning and start prepping the vegetables. It’s hard work and the kitchen stays hot, but it’s what we do. We don’t try to compete with the fancy places in the city center. We just provide a decent meal for the local workers and residents here in Toor Market. It is an honest business where we treat people like neighbors because most of them actually are.
