Prem Vaishnu Dhaba

Prem Vaishnu Dhaba is located on the main road along the G T Road in Ludhiana. We are on the Sirhind Side, near Gobindgarh, right there in 141008. If you have ever traveled on the G T Road, you know it is the main artery for trucks and cars moving across the state. We’ve been here for a long time, serving people who are tired from long drives. Since we are a Vaishnu dhaba, everything we do is vegetarian. We don’t have a big menu, just the solid, heavy food that keeps a person going for hundreds of miles. The seating is mostly long benches and tables where strangers often end up sitting together. It’s a very casual place. You might see a truck driver sleeping in his cab outside or a family stretching their legs after a long ride. The dust from the road sometimes blows in, but we try to keep the place as clean as we can. My uncle started this place years ago and not much has changed since then. We still use the same kind of iron pans and the same recipes. It’s hard work, especially in the heat of the afternoon, but we are used to it. We don't have any fancy lights or music. It’s just a place to eat and rest for a bit before getting back on the highway. We’ve seen the road change a lot, but the dhaba stays the same.
