Ashok Caters

Started out here in Baba Market near Jail Road quite a while ago. It’s always busy around Bangla Bazar, so our kitchen is usually going from early morning. Most days you’ll find us sorting out menus or checking on the vegetables that just came in. Ashok started this because he liked feeding people, and it just grew from there. We aren't a big fancy office or anything like that. It’s just a practical space where we get the work done. Usually, there’s a lot of noise from the street coming into the shop. We do a lot of weddings and small house parties around Lucknow. People just drop by the market to talk to us about their dates. Sometimes it gets a bit chaotic when three people are talking at once, but we manage. Our staff has been with us for years, so we all know how the other one works. We don't really do much advertising. Most of the people who come to us found out through a neighbor or saw us at a function. We keep our pots and pans clean and our ingredients fresh, which is what actually matters in this line of work. Jail Road can be a bit of a nightmare for parking, but somehow everyone finds their way to us. We’re just regular people trying to do a decent job with the food and staying busy.
