Vashi Granites

We are located at 6, Salem Road, in the New Pet area. Being on Salem Road means there is always traffic going by, which can be a bit noisy but it’s good for people finding us. We have been here for some time now, just working with granite slabs. It’s not the cleanest job in the world. There is always water running to keep the blades cool and stone slurry all over the floor. We wear boots all day and our hands are always rough from the stone. New Pet is a busy part of town, so we see a lot of different people. Most of them are just looking for a piece of stone for a small home project. We don't mind the small orders. We just cut what they need and they take it away. Sometimes we get bigger projects, and then the yard gets really hectic with trucks and loaders moving around. We try to keep things organized, but with so much stone, it’s hard. The slabs are heavy and you can’t just shove them around. Everything takes time and a bit of muscle. We don't have a big fancy office with air conditioning. We just have the yard and the workspace. It’s a simple way to make a living. You learn to appreciate the different patterns in the rock after you’ve looked at thousands of them over the years.
