Shree Venuss Granites

Shree Venuss Granites is tucked away at No. 11, Kali Chetty Street in Bargur. We are quite close to the Achamangalam Road. Bargur is known for stone, and we are right in the middle of it. Our place is basically a big open space where we keep the granite slabs. They are heavy and cold to the touch. We spend our mornings moving things around with the crane so people can see the different colors and grains in the rock. It’s a lot of manual work and your hands get rough from the stone. The street outside is narrow, so when a big truck comes to collect an order, it takes a bit of maneuvering to get it loaded without blocking everyone else on Kali Chetty Street. We have a small area where we sit and talk to customers, usually over a cup of tea. There is always the sound of someone cutting or polishing stone nearby, so it’s never really quiet. We don’t have any fancy marketing people or a big corporate office. It’s just us and the stone. We’ve been working here for a long time and we just take things one day at a time. The weather gets hot, the work is heavy, but we like being part of the local trade here in Bargur.
