Shree Krishna Granite

Our site is over in Village Shoolagiri, specifically at Survey No. 59/2F, which is near Thyagarasanapalli in Hosur Taluk. It is a bit tucked away, not right on the main highway, so it is quieter than some of the other places. We have a fair amount of land there where we keep the granite blocks and slabs. Shoolagiri is a place where you see a lot of this kind of activity. The sun gets quite strong out in the open fields, so we try to get the heavy work done early in the day. We have a small group of guys who have been with us for years. They know how to handle the stone without making a mess of things. It is a very practical setup. We have the basic sheds and the loading areas. Most of our days are spent checking the quality of what comes out of the ground or what is delivered to us. There isn't much in the way of a fancy office. We mostly just sit under the shade or in the small cabin we have on-site to do the accounts. People come to us from all over the Hosur area because they know where we are located. It’s a lot of manual work, lifting and moving, but that’s the nature of granite. We just take things one day at a time and try to stay organized despite all the dust and the heat. It is a decent living for everyone involved.
