Safa Granite

Safa Granite is located out at Sf.No. 148/3 in the Jagadevi area of Bargur. If you know anything about Bargur, you know it is famous for the stone that comes out of the ground around here. Our place is a bit outside the main town, so you have to drive through some open space to get to us. The work is mostly outdoors or in big open sheds because granite is too heavy and messy to keep in a regular building. There is always the sound of water running and saws cutting through the big blocks. We get covered in stone slurry pretty much every day, and your boots never really stay clean for long. It is a tough job and the sun in Tamil Nadu can be really hot when you are standing out in the yard. We have piles of granite slabs everywhere, and we spend our time sorting through them to find the right ones for different orders. People come from all over to look at the stone because of the quality you get in Bargur. We don't have a fancy showroom with air conditioning; we just show you the slabs right where they are sitting. It’s honest work and it keeps us busy from morning until the sun goes down. Sometimes we sit under the shade of the trees during the lunch break just to get out of the heat for a minute.
