Peace International School

Peace International School is located at Peace Mount, which is up in the Cheruvatta area near Moozhikkal. Kozhikode has a lot of greenery, and we are lucky to have a bit of that around us here. It is a good climb up to the school, but once you are here, it feels like a different world from the busy city streets. We have students coming from all over the nearby neighborhoods. The day usually starts with the sound of the school buses pulling up the hill. We have classrooms for different ages, and the teachers are usually busy getting their lessons ready before the first bell. It is not a perfect place, the halls can be a bit echoey and the playground gets dusty in the summer heat. But we like it this way. It feels real. The kids spend their breaks running around outside or sitting in groups talking. We don't have a lot of fancy equipment, but we have enough for everyone to learn what they need to. Our focus is just on getting through the school year and making sure the students understand their subjects. We have a lot of local staff who have been with us for years. They know the families and the kids by name. It is just a regular school trying to do a decent job for the community in Cheruvatta. There is nothing complicated about how we run things here.
